Grand Saline is has a long history in Van Zandt County. It has a population of 2,744. It is best known
for the Salt Mines and industry in this area that gave it the name Grand Saline(Salt). The town
celebrates there industry and history with the Salt Festival every year. There is also a hospital
in Grand Saline, the Cozby-Germany Hopital. The town is
on either side of Hwy 80 which runs through the middle of town. It is about 60 miles
East of Dallas on Highway 80. You can also reach it from
I-20 by taking FM 17 North from Canton.
