Wills Point, "Bluebird
Capital of Texas

Wills
Point is one of the oldest and largest towns in Van Zandt County. It has a
population of 3,302.
It sits along either side of Hwy 80 about 43 miles from Dallas. The railroad tracks
run right along 80
in Wills Point and the town has a museum in the old railway station there, as well as a
city
welcome center in a caboose nearby. The downtown area has a historic look with
memorials to
war veterans and brick streets. Wills Point is known as the "Bluebird Capital
of Texas", and
has the Bluebird Festival in April of each year to celebrate the fact. It has a
beautiful new
High School in its first year on the West edge of town. The Van Zandt County
Players, the
county's theater group performs in Wills Point.
